"The Spirit of Elijah"
"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:
And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." (Malachi: 4:5-6)
“I will reveal unto you the Priesthood, by the hand of Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. “And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers.“If it were not so, the whole earth would be utterly wasted at his coming." (D&C 2:1-3)
Elijah, the old testament prophet, has restored, in this the last dispensation, the sealing keys allowing families to be linked together forever in the Lord's Holy Temples.
The Spirit of Elijah is moving across the earth.
Michael, my Keiths lived in Gordon County, GA, and I’m working on a rejected GM application for William Lorenzo Dow Keith who said his grandfather’s Indian name was “Lanie Heat.”
ReplyDeletePerhaps he was a liar, but in my research I’ve begun to realize that there might be some truth to his claim, and perhaps, because he was illiterate, he just didn’t “get it right.”
I have HITEs also in my lineage, so I thought perhaps he could have meant HITE, HIGHT, or some variation of the name. I’ve been looking and have, in fact, found a post of a will for John Hite in SC (where my Keiths spent some time) where he names a James Keith as an heir.
My James Keith married Sarah Butram and these were William LD’s parents. His GGrandparents lived on the Hightower River near Frogtown in the Cherokee village. They are also related to the Thompsons.
Do you have ANY clues that might help us?
I have a blog where I’ve blogged about our journey if you’d like to read it. It’s not been entirely pleasant dealing with a Cherokee researcher, but we’re making some progress.

Search for KEITH or TOMPSON name. William LD’s application is posted, too.
Love the quote ;) LDS here, too.
Thanks,
